Before we talk about carriers, biomechanics, or design, let's begin with something much more important.
Our belief.
At Babue, we believe the best baby carrier doesn't simply support the baby. It supports the relationship between the baby and the person carrying them.
Because when caregivers feel supported, they are more able to breathe deeply, move comfortably, respond thoughtfully, and fully enjoy the moments of connection that matter most.
Every design decision begins here. Every conversation begins here. Every feature exists to serve this relationship.
As an occupational therapist, I have spent years studying how the body moves, develops, heals, and carries. Growing up in Zimbabwe, I was equally shaped by grandmothers, mothers, fathers, siblings, and communities whose wisdom had been lovingly passed from one generation to the next.
Babue is where those two worlds meet.
Ancient African caregiving traditions. Modern science. One helping us better understand the other.
We don't believe science replaces traditional wisdom. We believe it gives us another language for appreciating it.
That belief shapes everything we do.
From the way our carriers distribute pressure and support movement… To the stories we tell… The songs we remember… The communities we build… And the families we hope to encourage.
Because our mission has never been simply to create a better baby carrier. It is to help rebuild a village where parents feel supported as they support their children.
